Every hour at xx:43 a TiLo regional express train depart Milano Centrale with final destination Locarno (sometimes Biasca) with few stops before Lugano. My advise is to make sure to take the 07:43 am service to arrive in Lugano at 08:58 am. From the train station there is only one in Lugano walk down to the center with a stop at beautiful cathedral.
